In game 1 the Red Sox held on to win 7-6 with Foxx hitting his 466th career home run( Foxx would hit a total of 534 home runs for his career). June 8th 1941 the St Louis Cardinals played 2 in New York against the Giants and lost both games 7-5 and 12-7. In game 1 Enos Slaughter would hit his 42nd career home run and to follow in game 2 Carl Hubbell would win his 230 game. Two Hall of Famers putting on a show for the New York crowd. September of 1942 World War 2 was in full swing. The major League season was coming to an end and players were going to war. On Sept 27 the Red Sox would beat the Yankees 7-6 on the final game of the season., Joe DiMaggio would hit his 219th home run and Ted Williams after going 1-3 and batting 356 for the season would head off to War. Williams would miss 3 years of baseball coming back in 1946 and picking up where he left off batting 342 for the season. Ticket stub has been graded by PSA vg 3.
